Maddy was part of the Roundhouse Poetry Collective in 2018 and was a finalist in the Roundhouse Poetry Slam the same year. She has featured at Sofar Sounds, Off the Chest and Speakeasy, as well as Brainchild Festival, All Points East and UAL Welcome Week.

Her writing has been published in bath magg, Ink Sweat and Tears and Off the Chest’s ‘Spaces of Significance’ anthology. In 2023, she was commissioned by UCLH Arts and Heritage to write a poem in response to Our National Health Stories, which was informed by interviews with nurses and physiotherapists in UCLH hospitals.

‘Maddy is more than a talented writer, she’s a clever one. I’m constantly impressed when I listen to and read her poetry, mostly because of how well she manages to capture the anxiety and calm of the every day—all whilst making it seem extraordinary. There’s a quiet joy in the way she tells stories in her poems, a real spark of something ironic and aware, but still very funny.’ - Bridget Minamore
